Guitar Project Question, What do I do?

I have a strat that I love dearly and I was wondering what to do about the hole for the tremolo bridge. I am currently attempting to but a les paul style bridge in its place. I am trying to create a baritone guitar that will be tuned to E-e (octive lower then a standard guitar). so I have no problems putting the bridge in its the hole underneath i want it to get rid of. If you can help please do.
