Well its possible that when your doctor sent you for the US that they put directions to check the right side more then the left. Also if the technician found a cyst they would need to gather as much information about it like the dimensions, borders, transparency, blood flow, etc. So that the radiologist can make a better informed diagnosis. Thyroid US is not a routine exam so obviously there is something in that area or in your symptoms that prompted the test in the first place. Besides nothing can be 100% diagnosed without a biopsy, everything else is strong speculation.
