HEART MURMUR CLOSURE OF THE SHUNTS?

My little one 7 days old. baby girl. she has been diagnosed with heart murmur and VSD of 5mm with 21 mm hg gradient with L to R shunt flow. Doctor says we shall repeat ECHO after 6 weeks to know the progress and either pressure shall come down, which causes null effect or over the period the hole may get closed. he says it may take one year also. ANY BODY EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEM AND THAT GOT CLOSED FINALLY
