Why is God 100% pive and does not help those in need such as 17 year old Chelsea King?

She has been missing since last week, abducted while jogging. They found evidence at the scene of a offender who they have in custody. She was a straight A high school student due to graduate this year. Why didn't God help her escape instead of letting that pervert take her life and causing pain and sorrow to her parents? Why does he step back when there is pain and suffering like he doesn't care and isn't watching over any of us? What's the point of God if he is not there for us? Did he create the world and all in it then move on to more important things and left us stranded?
