In this day and age of skyrocketing oil prices, is it ethical to run 25-30 NASCAR races every year?

The amount the races pumps into each city's individual economy outweighs the oil usage tremendously. If Nascar is going to be banned then private jets, SUVs, and recreational boats all have to be banned too. There is a lot of things out there that burn gas but Nascar fans pay their tickets to see the race, pack every local hotel, shop at every local store, eat at every local restaurant, and buy, buy, buy their merchandise pumping millions into the economy. If you want to solve the gas shortage, don't look at Nascar but look at yourself and help out saving gas so Nascar isn't a problem to some anymore.
