If a postman forces my door open is that breaking/ entering?

Someone knocked and tried to force my door open while I was bathing my baby. It was on the latch and they were pushing it a few times! I was scared so didnt open the door when they did it again the following day! My 9 yr old was PETRIFIED, as was I as I don't know anyone who would do that! The third time they did it my friend opened the door and it was a POSTMAN! He handed her a sack full of parcels and moaned that this was the third time he'd tried. Also it looked like him so it was defo him that had been forcing the door!!! Is this cled as breaking/ entering? Is he breaking the law by trying to force my door open? He hadnt left a card to say he'd tried and half the parcels should have been signed for! I've also had 3 parcels go missing plus 1 that a neighbour rescued after it was chucked in my front garden!!
